Get the clinician’s name
As of October 3, 2026, Arizona uses different boards to check licences for these four health professions.
Medical doctors use MD after their names.
Osteopathic doctors are doctors with DO after their names and a separate licensing board.
Nurses have a nursing licence; nurses with further training may also need a separate certificate.
Physician assistants are health professionals with their own licence; look for PA after their names.

Ask what the visit needs
Arizona’s rules, as of October 3, 2026, allow some prescriptions after a remote examination.
The health check must be suitable for the care being offered. Rules for that particular medicine still apply.

What a remote visit has to establish
As of October 3, 2026, remote care in Arizona may be provided by some health professionals whose licences are from another state.
They must sign up with the Arizona board for their profession and meet its rules. This registration does not give them a full Arizona licence.
The board checks that their other-state licence has no restrictions on their work. Rules also cover past action by a licensing board and insurance for claims about their care.
Arizona’s rules for treating patients still apply.
Ask the Arizona board whether that person’s licence or registration allows the care being offered to me.
Name the medicine
Ask for the exact medicine name and form. A treatment label is not enough to compare offers.
Check who will send it
As of October 3, 2026, shipping medicine into Arizona requires a pharmacy to hold an Arizona permit and have permission from its home state.

Check the pharmacy as well as the person
FDA advises avoiding online pharmacies that do not appear on the state’s licensed-pharmacy list.
Being on that list is no guarantee that all medicines from the pharmacy meet state and federal rules.
Ask which rules allow the pharmacy to supply this exact medicine, especially if it is made for me.
Leave with a way to ask again
FDA’s care checklist warns about services where patients cannot reach a licensed doctor with questions once their medicine has arrived.
